Getting Ready for SMX Social Media…Are you going?
We’re coming up on another great Third Door Media conference — Search Marketing Expo - SMX Social Media. SMX is the sister company to Search Marketing Now (SMN), along with Search Engine Land (SEL) and the newest addition to our group, social networking site Sphinn.
If you haven’t yet attended an SMX show, look at it this way: take one SMN webcast, multiply the amount you’ll learn by a factor of at least 10, throw in the ability to network with the best minds in this industry *and* you’ll get some good food and drink along the way. In New York City, no less!
SMX Social Media - Tuesday, October 16 & Wednesday, October 17
The Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 West 18th Street
New York, New York 10011
I’m looking forward to several of the sessions, including A Marketer’s Guide to Social Bookmarking & Tagging and Wikipedia Clinic. The networking reception at Elmo’s is also on my list.
Attending a webcast is one thing, but come on, isn’t it time to meet some of your fellow audience members face to face? As moderator, I know you all by email, but I am looking forward to seeing you in person. Please feel free to come and introduce yourself at SMX Social Media — I promise not to ask *any* polling questions. — Claire Schoen

Next Search Marketing Webcast: Leveraging All Search Marketing Channels
Effective marketing has always been a balancing act. It’s just as true for internet and search marketing - the best search marketing strategies integrate paid search, search engine optimization (SEO) and feed management.
How does your search marketing campaign measure up? Is your SEO strategy aligned with your paid search strategy? Are you taking advantage of shopping feeds? Are you expanding into global and mobile search? Are you coordinating and optimizing your efforts across these different areas to generate the greatest return?
On Thursday, October 11 — at 1:00 PM EDT – join us as industry expert Chris Sherman gives an overview of the important elements and key concepts in any search marketing campaign — and how you can be sure that yours is on track for success.
You’ll learn:
* What are the components of a successful search marketing campaign
* How you can integrate new platforms (such as mobile) into your search campaign
* Why it’s essential to coordinate the people — and platforms — involved in your marketing efforts
